My 2012 Year Reflection

Hi my name is Kobe Tutahi, this year I have enjoyed having new friends getting better and learning new things. I am not looking forward to next year going off to high school because I will be alone in Papatoetoe. : (

TC Writing

It was a very dull day, the sun had disappeared though the pitch black clouds, and drops of cold raindrops had splashed on my head.”Dammit ! when are the teachers coming to pick us up from tech”, I had said in my head I had thought it was just a regular Thursday but I was wrong.

I was standing in the rain waiting, and waiting, and waiting.”COME ON FOLLOW THE CROWD”, MR Grundy had said I had done what he had said I was wondering what we were going to do.I wasn't very excited about the idea of heading into their school library.

   

We had just been told to get in to three groups I was wounding what this was for.Then we got into them and we got told that we were going to do maths, English, and and music, "NOOOOOOO!" I said this must be hard, collage work already.

The first thing we had done was music, I thought it was stink we had to make up a rap and we only had 10 minuets."WOW" ten minuets I cant even think of a good piece of writing that long .After we made one up we had to sing it "NOOOOOO" I had said once again.Our group had done our rap and I sighed though the whole song, will I survive high school from boredom. I guess I'll see in the future?

Where I am from I see trees swaying side to side.
Where I am from I hear loud music and laughter all over.
Where I am from I touch fur of my dog.  
Where I am from I taste the beauty sensation of the butter chicken.
Where I am from I smell fresh hangi being made.   
Where I am from I feel tired waking up every time and 5.00 just to make it to school.

The abandoned barn

It was Halloween, the sky was pitch black, the moon had risen suddenly lightning bolts were thundered down.Leon, Mari, Greg and Noah were a bunch of teens as soon as they saw the lightning they ran for cover under a tree.Then they saw a barn in the distance.

“Yozza Greg you know this area right” Noah said with swagger.
”oh yeah this place is really run down,but word on the street is that that barn is the scariest place in the world.”
“How do you know this, do your science nerds live in this area.”
“Were called Zoltan and yes Ned lives around here.”
“Isn't that he that person that peed his pants”Mari said.
“Hey who cares let’s just go over there and have some fun” Leon said with anger .

 Mari started to get goose bumps and Greg’s teeth were chattering and Noah tried to hide his fear, while Leon led the way.Clump clump the sound of their steps in the mud “OMG my heels are muddy now, thanks a lot Leon” “ you're welcome Mari.” he said sarcastically

They had gotten to the door and Leon pushed it open then entered, then suddenly a gust of wind slammed the door shut, but they remained calm.The whole barn was a mess there was rubble,rats, and dead cows all over the place.Suddenly Mari saw a sheet on the ground move,so she went to go and check it out.Suddenly a swarm of Black Widows scurried and hid under the floorboards “AHHHHHHH!!!”Mari screamed with fear.

“Look” Greg said the spiders came out and went into the cow's mouth then moments later they ran out then the cows eyes opened and all you could hear is a loud MOO “holy shiznit the cows alive”Naoh said then he had picked up some rubble and throw it at its head then nothing happened then Naoh touched it “NOOOO!!!” Then a thing came out of the cows mouth and ate him with a huge gulp

“AAAAHHHHH!!!” Mari screamed once again “It ate Noah” Mri said
“Go run” Leon said then he grabbed a nearby pipe and hit it with one blow.They ran into the other room and locked the door.MOOOO!! “ahhh” Greg said
“Shhh Mari” Leon said
“That was Greg” Mari said
“Oh” Leon said

BANG!BANG!BANG! the cow was ramming into the door the ”The hinges are going to let out at any minute” Greg said. It went silent They armed themselves Leon opened the door and the cow laid dead again on the rubble. “What just happened ?” Leon said They walked Leon lead the way with Mari at the back there was a. bang everyone turned then something snathced Mari they ran for the door but the cow was in the way MOO.They ran for the back door but the spiders were there “Theres no way out” Greg said then he tripped over a handle “Look its a hatch” Greg said.They ran into it and closed the hatch behind them, they were in a abandoned  wine cellar there was an exit on the far side of the room.

They ran for it when suddenly the cow rammed through the hatch and the spider followed “Oh no” Greg said as they ran as fast as they could “We won’t make it” Greg said

“We can make it” Leon said they ran and Leon rammed the door smashing it into pieces.The sun rose and as soon as the cow got into the sunlight it vanished into dust and so did the spider then, the wind blew it away and what was left was Mari and Noah.

Vacation gone wrong

The sand was burning on my feet, sweat beating down my head, my clothes were sticking to my skin.There was heaps of laughter and joy that day. Tana,Tevita,Lave, a little boy named Melvin and I had gone for a vacation.

“Come on bro’s let’s go for a swim” cheered Tana. Melvin thought it was boring and ran to the huge rock to bomb off. Something badly had happened, Melvin had slipped and hit his head on the rock and had fell unconscious. Somehow his body had moved into the sea.

We all searched for a few minutes trying to find him, we thought he was just playing.Hours went past, this was serious, we called the police and had not found him.

Three years went past we had nearly forgot about the horrible incident. One day an important phone call came. ”Um sir is this Kobe,Tana,Tevita or Lave?”, said a familiar voice. “Yes”, I had responded. I was thinking to myself I know this voice. “Oh yes, I've finally found you guys, its me Melvin” I was stunned, YES he’s still alive!

Sports Rotation

"Dammit,” I roared with fury, as my school uniform got soaking wet.I had written tai 3 down on my hand.I saw the same thing on the wall.So I asked the person  next to me “whats going on I whispered and he replied “oh hi, the teachers in the senior block are going to see what the juniors do.So they left us here to play games and other things”.

I looked around thinking what was going to happen or what we're going to do their wasn't much teacher left the only teachers that I thought there was is our principle Mr Burt and vice principal Mr Jackson or as we call him Mr J.But what I didn't relays was that there was a whole wolf pack of teacher left.

“Sup”I heard all around me, everyone was talking “listen up”a loud voice exploded out of the speakers then dead silent I turned around and saw Mr Burt with the microphone he said “I know that you all know that your teacher are out until morning tea time.so were going to do some fun activities

”.He named out all of the activities “yous are going to do sing star in the staff room,cyber coach in the street,an obstacle course in the breeze”(I didn't want to do that I was SOOOOOOO! tired I was like a zombie that day)mystery activities in the library, music I.C.T room.       

The Long Trip Funereal

On Thursday the 20th of September I had missed school to go to my great aunts funeral. She had just past away.So me and my dad got up at 6:00 and quiwckly got ready and went on the motorway to pick up my sister in Papatoetoe.

After picking up my sister Daryen we made our way down to Tauranga. I was so excited to see my cuisines again. I hadn't seen them in 2 year they were so funny their names were Bayle and Ashley.Oh and I also missed my favorite uncle and my auntie.

We were still in our car and one hour had been past. My butt was about to fall off, it was soooooooo! sore there was still 2 hour to go.”NOOO!” I said vociferously I couldn't stand to wait in the car my butt was sore and I was stuck in there with my very VERY! annoying sister.   

“Wake up we're here now son” I woke up yes we're here now yes, yes, yes I opened the door and laid down on the ground.Come on Kobe help us take the coffin in the pit I was thinking to myself that they needed me because of my mussels.I was looking around trying to find my cuisines and my favorite uncle and my auntie.But hey that was actually fun.

Joshua at our school

Laughter was all around me even inside of me, everyone was listening hilarious comments from Joshua.Joshua was perfect at Auckland Grammar.One day he stood up in the hall and spook an incredible speech one of his friends had filmed it and put it on youtube.he became world wide he became big so big that campbell live interviewed him about his speech.

Somehow our school had persuaded him to came our school and he was right in front of us in the hall and he was there with his mum and dad.I was was looking at my teacher see was frozen looking at him with really huge smiled she really loved that speech she had shown us like 6 times in class his speech was so clear and it was so funny even his comments

My Cross Country Run

In the morning I came to school with excitement, knowing that the day had finally arrived, but let me tell you the full story. It all started two weeks before August the 17th on Thursday when my class (room twenty) split up in the afternoon (because they do kapa haka in my classroom). I went to my old classroom and saw my old teacher Mr Barks, he’s a cool as Canadian. So yeah I was doing my same old writing when Mr Bark’s tells me to pack up and go I was confused it was only 2.30pm.

It looked like he wasn't kidding around, so I packed up and went back to my class and then suddenly my friend burst out of his class saying we had cross country practice!!! “NOOOOOOOOO!!!!”I said with dread but there was a positive side, there was a teacher handing out skipping ropes. “Hey kids you can skip or run.” My jaw dropped. I wanted the skipping rope. Unfortunately I didn’t get one even though there were like 50 of them and so I slouched to the start line.

Quickly the two weeks went past. The day of the Cross Country race had arrived.  I saw my two best friends and they were actually happy.Our plan was to run together and finish as one. They were also happy because it started at 12:30.

But lets  just skip my story to when we started the cross country race. Sadly only me and one of my friends Tau ran, my other friend was too sick to do it. By the time we got to the beach Tau and I were both lagging. There was one part when the mud went up to my knees and we were both shouting !!EXTREME!! It was like a jungle the mud,the hills,big tree’s,zig zags.Tau and I finally finished I was so glad

Smoking

Smoking can harm you. Cigarettes have 4000 chemicals that can cause cancer and can cause changes to your appearance. .Also the money you can save is substantial around 8000 dollars a year. Cigarettes contain harmful chemicals from everyday products. I recommend that you never start smoking.

Smoking gives you cancer I know you know that but the cancer can be in any part of your body. Cigarette have around 40in  4000 chemicalsthem it conta0ins chemicals including Benzene0  (petrol additive), Formaldehyde (ecmbalming fluid), ammonia (nail polish remover)(fly spray)(jet fuel).The tar in your lungs will give a bad cough it will feel like you're coughing up a lung so I hear.So people have to get amputations (get limbs cut off) beacause the blood stops flowing to those arms or legs.By smoking you triple your chance of getting cancer.

Not only will it affect the inside of your body it will affect the outside and you can get bad breath which will smell horrible,you will have yellow fingernails and burnt fingertips and black teeth and rotting gums.The chemicals from the smokes can you skin to tighten and can give you some wrinkles.The effects of smoking is not worth it to me so i'm never going to start.

If  you smoke one pack a day you can save up to around 100 dollars a week,400 dollars in a month and 8000 dollars a year for one pack of smokes.You can save a substantial amount of money if you you don’t start at all.The addictive drug will make you wanting more and more until you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day.

I reckon teens start smoking because of peer pressure and everyone around them is doing it and they pressure them.People just want to fit in so they start and can not stop.

My Running Movie

Valerie tried to defend her gold medal but she just could not surpass her opponent Nadzeya Ostapchuk and she came in second place taking home the silver . Trying to hide her tears as she walked to the podium her sadness and disappointment showed through.  At the end of the day she lost by 0.64m.  It was emotional night as she lost the a gold medal but we're still proud of her .

Brown Brother

Joshua Iosefo a prefect at Mt Roskill Grammar. All perfects had to do a speech to the school instead he did a poem.One of his friends filmed it and posted it on Youtube and then Campbell Live noticed it and asked him to do a remake.

The message in his poem talks about his skin color(Brown).It is a very strong message about the stereotype.His message was not to limit yourself, do not listen to the stereotypes and not to change what you look like.

I personally felt that he was fed up with stereotypes and wanted to put an end to them.Thinking about him being mocked all the time just makes me sad.I agree with him about stereotypes and people.

The Weightlifter

The weightlifter was thinking about coming in first place having a hunger for gold and that sweet taste of victory. Determined, the weightlifter would not let anything get in his way, he would stop at nothing to win. With his final move he lifted the weight over his head and the crowd cheered.

Picasso and Matisse

Picasso was born in  Malaga Spain on October 25 1881 and Matisse was born 12 years before him on December 31 1869 in Le Cateau-Cambresis in France.They met each other in Paris and became life long friends.Pablo Picasso evolved a new style of painting, Cubism and Henri became the pioneer of Fauvism.They became very famous.

 

Picasso he mostly painted with the colors reds,oranges,yellow contrasting with blue and green accentuates theme of war blood and sadness.Like one of his other paintings the Guernica. Henri has no theme at all,but they both had that explosion of color.  

Henris “Woman In A Hat” was a drawing with shadings of bright contrasting colors.Picasso had a different way of drawing the woman having two perspectives and sharp bold lines.
